NEWTON FALLS # 462
WM: Charles D. Johnson, III
Secretary: David Gore, PM
Meetings: 1st & 3rd Monday,
12 W. Broad St. Newton Falls, OH 44444
A Mason’s wife once asked him why he learned all his workings in the toilet. His reply: “That’s the only properly tiled room in the house”. The below is an important conversation that I had with the Senior Warden Stephen Yanovich in the past few weeks.
WM: Brother SW have you planned out your year yet?
SW: Yes WM, it will be a busy year.
WM: What do you have planned for next year?
SW: The same events that make Newton Falls Masonic Lodge great! Installation will be traditional as it will be in November but it won’t be on any major sporting event night!
WM: Well I’m glad to see that you have planned ahead.
SW: What do you think are some of the things that I should watch out for next year?
WM: Well, one of the most important things is to communicate with the new secretary. He tries to help you plan the meeting.
SW: Yes, WM that is very important, communication is the key to everything.
WM: One thing that I’m worried about for next year is that we don’t have commitments to all the chairs yet.
SW: WM I’m not worried about that, I am sure that the Brethren that are reading this will step up next year and help this Lodge for the upcoming year!
WM: Yes, we have been really lucky, I know at our last meeting several other Lodges helped us confer the MM degree, we had to pull some past masters out of their retirement chairs at the last minute, I hope for your sake, WB Tom James will continue to lead the fellow craft team.
SW: He does an excellent job planning and executing the fellow craft team at every MM degree so far this year.
WM: Oh Hey! I Hope you are ready to open Lodge when we come back from summer refreshment, hopefully you can confer a MM degree before your year starts since your inspection will be in the MM degree. The view from the East is truly different! One last thing! June will be a busy month for Newton Falls Masonic Lodge; the annual Golf Outing will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Riverview Golf Course. The 300th Year Celebration Dinner will be Saturday June 24, 2017.
Our Meeting in September will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 as traditional goes it will be wild shirt night!
Due to personal circumstances, I have resigned as your Lodge Secretary effective June 1st, 2017. It has been my honor and privilege to serve you; the Lodge; the 25th Masonic District, and the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio these past 11 years. Being the Secretary of our Lodge was, without a doubt, one of the most challenging experiences I have ever attempted. I “Thank You All” for the confidence you had in me to fulfill those duties. I pray that I fulfilled them to your satisfaction.
Our Worshipful Master will be appointing a new Brother as “Acting Secretary” at the first stated meeting in June. He will serve as such until the Annual Installation of Officers in November or December 2017. This Brother will need patience from you while he learns his job and all the assistance he can get from the Past Master’s and current Lodge Officers. I have already spoken with him and have assured him that I will always be available to him. Please be sure to keep him and the Lodge apprised of all changes in your personal contact information such as address changes; home phone and cell phone number changes; email address changes, etc.
Fraternally, WB David M. Gore, PM
